Ladies Cup — Any Division, Class, or Club - First on Corrected Time / Samuel de Champlain Trophy

LADIES CUP
• SAMUEL de CHAMPLAIN TROPHY •

First on Corrected Time — Any Division, Class, or Club
21st Consecutive Awarding — 2012

In 1992, when the winner of the Ladies Cup was changed from first-to-finish to first-on-corrected-time, the Ted Brooks trophy was changed from first-on-corrected-time to first-to-finish. However, the Ted Brooks Trophy may be awarded to any competitor regardless of division, class, or club. So this new award was created to be awarded to the LCYC Class A boat that was first to finish.

In 2001 the criteria was changed once again. Recognizing that the Ladies Cup is restricted to LCYC members and that it is possible that the boat that is first to finish on corrected time may not be an LCYC member, this award henceforth will be awarded to the boat that has the best corrected-time finish regardless of division, class, or club affiliation.

The trophy was in the LCYC archives, having been bought in a yard sale. It features a medallion bearing the likeness of Samuel de Champlain and the dates 1609-1909. The engraving is below the medallion.
